Why do the animatronic's masks open? It serves no actual purpose, unless of course it's designed that so the engineers could open up their mask and perform a diagnostic or repair on the animatronic's endoskeleton jaw. But other than that, it's probably just in the game for aesthetic purposes. That or the company that owns the Sister Location of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza was significantly richer.
